Tampon applicator (10) for feminine hygiene, comprising a cylindrical applicator barrel (14) of paper-like material, having a front end comprising segments (18) which are bent forwards and inward with respect to the longitudinal center axis of the applicator barrel (14), forming a dome (20) whereby a weakening of the segments is provided for reducing their resistance to a spreading movement of the segments during the pushing out of a tampon from the applicator barrel. The bases (28) of the segments (18) are formed by the front. solid-cylindrical end of the applicator barrel (14) and the weakening of the segments (18) is provided on the inner surface (22) and at an axial distance from the base (28) of the segments (18). The tampon applicator reduces the ejecting pressure by means of the predetermined breaking lines at the inner surface of each segment whilst the smooth outside of the segments reduces irritations when in use. Additionally, the invention relates to a process and an apparatus for manufacturing said tampon applicator.
La présente invention concerne un produit d'hygiène féminine, en l'occurrence un applicateur de tampon (10), présentant un corps d'applicateur (14) de forme cylindrique en une matière telle que le papier, lequel corps présente une extrémité avant formée de segments (18) incurvés en avant vers le centre en forme de dôme (20) par rapport à l'axe central longitudinal du corps d'applicateur (14). Les segments comportent une zone affaiblie diminuant leur résistance au déploiement pour l'expulsion du tampon hors du corps de l'applicateur. Les bases (28) des segments (18) sont constituées par l'extrémité avant, formant cylindre monobloc, du corps d'applicateur (14), la zone affaiblie des segments (18) étant réalisée sur leur face intérieure (22) en respectant une distance axiale à partir de la base (28) des segments (18). Cet applicateur de tampon permet de diminuer la pression d'éjection grâce à des lignes de ruptures prédéterminées situées sur la face intérieure de chaque segment, la face extérieure lisse des segments provoquant moins d'irritation à l'usage. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé ainsi qu'un appareil de fabrication dudit applicateur de tampon.
