ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tandem disc type cultivator has gangs that are adjustable as to the angle between the gangs and the frame, and gang sections which can trip if an obstruction is en- countered by any individual section. Each section is pro- vided with an hydraulic actuator between the section and the frame which extends against hydraulic pressure when tripped and is returned by the hydraulic pressure when past the ob- struction. Walking beam type wheel assemblies support the machine and a pivoted hitch connects the frame to the tractor. Fluid actuators extend between the wheels of the frame to control the depth of the discs and to move same to a trans- port position clear of the ground and a further fluid actuator extends between the hitch and the frame to level the frame at all times. In one embodiment, outrigger wing sections are provided supported in the working position by front castor wheel assemblies and having hydraulic means to elevate the wing sections for transport.
