A tandem set of angular contact ball bearings (30a, 30b, ...) each having an inner ring (32), an outer ring (34) and balls (24) therebetween, wherein each bearing contains balls that are spaced from each other by slug ball separators (10). A rotary wing aircraft rotor head assembly (50) includes a rotor head member (52), a plurality of spindles (56) attached to the head member (52) at equal intervals around the center of the head member, and a stack of ball bearings (40) mounted on each spindle (56). Each bearing has an inner ring (32), an outer ring (34), and a plurality of balls (24) between the inner ring and the outer ring, and slug ball separators (10) between adjacent balls, and there is a mounting collar (58) on the ball bearings.
