R. Hopfensperger 5 TANGENTIAL BLOWER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tangential blower having a unique partition wall between the pressure and suction spaces of the blower. The partition wall has a rounding facing the im- peller. The partition wall has a stepped configuration. Starting from the rounding the wall has a first section expanded in a diffuser-like manner, a second section con- stricted in a confuser-like manner, and a final third sec- tion expanded in a diffuser-like manner until reaching the outlet. The blower achieves an improvement in the pressure-volume characteristic and a reduction of the noise development. TLP:cmb 10/3/83
