The invention concerns a tap for a gas or liquefied gas cylinder, comprising a tap body wherein a tap stem and a closure element are engaged directly in a tap body bore without the intermediary of a gland ring. A fixed seat of the tap is formed on a seat tube separate from the tap body. The tap stem, the closure element and the seat tube being adapted to be removably inserted into the tap body bore from the base end thereof.
