ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a tape cassette in which a magnetic tape is wound on supply and take-up reels, both ends of the magnetic tape being fixed to the supply and take-up reels, the magnetic tape is withdrawn from the cassette housing in use, one end of a first flexible strip is fixed to upper or lower half of the cassette housing, while another end of the first flexible strip works on the magnetic tape to impart a predetermined back ten- sion to the magnetic tape unwound from the supply reel, and one end of a second flexible strip is fixed to the upper or lower half of the cassette housing, while another end of the second flexible strip works on the magnetic tape to hold the run of the magnetic tape along the front opening of the cassette housing at a predetermined position, the first and second flexible strips are united with each other as one flexible strip, an opening is made in a central portion of the one flexible strip or near the central portion thereof, a projection is formed integrally with the upper or lower half of the cassette housing, and the projection is engaged with the opening of the one flexible strip to fix the latter to the upper or lower half of the cassette housing. - 1 -
