ABSTRACT A tape cassette loading mechanism in a tape player for loading a tape cassette, which encloses a magnetic tape. The tape cassette loading mechanism includes a lower holder having lugs formed on the bottom thereof for engagement with retaining apertures formed in the slider and also having bent pieces formed at the front end thereof to retain the front end portion of the slider, and an upper holder formed separately from the lower holder to support the upper case. The lower and upper holders being movable relative to each other to open the slider of the tape cassette.
