A ribbon combination for holding the ends of a plurality of laths in a grid- like arrangement comprises a row of pouches which are open to at least one side. The ribbon combination, is manufactured as a combination of ribbon parts (3 and 4) which lie essentially flat against each other which ribbon parts are joined to one another in a suitable manner. The first ribbon part (3) consists of a shrinkable material (e.g., cotton material) and the second ribbon part (4) consist of a non-shrinkable or less shrinkable material (e.g., nylon or pre-shrunken cotton material). The ribbon combination is then subjected to a shrinking process. By this, the pouches which were flat beforehand, comprise now a shrunken pouch bottom and a pouch part arching over the bottom. The ribbon combination is very easy to manufacture and comprises a constant length, independent of whether lath ends are inserted in the pouches or not. The ribbon combination can easily be stitched on to a lattice apron or a mattress cover with the shrunken ribbon part lying flat thereon.
La présente invention concerne une combinaison de bandes qui présente une rangée de poches ouvertes au moins sur un côté de la combinaison de bandes, permettant d'accueillir des extrémités de lattes. Cette combinaison de bandes est produite sous forme de combinaison de deux parties de bande (3 et 4), qui sont reliées l'une à l'autre de façon adéquate et reposent l'une sur l'autre de manière sensiblement plane. La première partie de bande (3) est constituée d'une matière rétractable (telle que du coton) et la seconde partie de bande (4) est constituée d'une matière non ou peu rétractable (telle que du Nylon ou du coton prérétréci). Ladite combinaison de bandes est soumise à un processus de retrait. Il se forme alors des poches qui ne sont plus planes, mais qui présentent un fond de poche rétréci sur lequel se trouve une partie de poche bombée. La combinaison de bandes selon cette invention peut être produite très facilement et présente une longueur constante, que les extrémités des lattes soient introduites dans les poches ou non. Elle peut facilement, avec la partie rétrécie, être cousue sur un protège-lattes ou sur un protège-matelas.
