This invention enables a person working with a tape measure, to mark his measurement without having to reach for a pencil with one hand and hold the tape measure with the other. The "TAPE-MATE" is a pencil holder that is placed, then fixed with two-way adhesive tape at the right spot on the side of the tape measure so that the pencil is aligned with the front bottom of the tape measure, where the tape pulls out for measurement. It is in this fixed position that it is ready for marking a measurement, without the extra movement of reaching for a pencil, and holding the tape measure in the other hand. The "TAPE-MATE" substantially saves time and movement, by eliminating reaching for a pencil, or looking for a lost pencil. Marking your measurement is quicker, easier and less work for the person using the tape measure.
