A tape measure includes a novel mounting clip assembly having a distinct lever arm coupled to a base plate for movement about a pivot axis between a closed position and an open position. The lever arm has a first spring-receiving bay on a side generally facing the base plate and disposed rearward of the pivot axis. The base plate has a first fastener-receiving hole therein forward of the pivot axis, a second spring-receiving bay on a side generally facing the lever arm. A spring biases the lever arm to assume the closed position and extends from the first bay to the second bay. A centerline of a mounting hole in the base plate extends through a second hole in the lever arm when the lever arm is in the closed position. A top of a securing fastener is accessible via the second hole. Also, methods of assembly are described.
Un ruban à mesurer comprend un nouvel ensemble pince de montage possédant un bras de levier distinct accouplé à une plaque de base de manière qu'elle se déplace autour d'un axe de pivot entre une position fermée et une position ouverte. Le bras de levier possède une ouverture de réception de ressort sur un côté faisant généralement face à la plaque de base et placée à l'arrière de l'axe de pivot. La plaque de base possède un premier orifice de logement d'attache à l'avant de l'axe de pivot, une seconde ouverture de logement de ressort sur un coté généralement face au bras de levier. Un ressort sollicite le bras de levier pour qu'il se mette en position fermée et s'étend de la première ouverture jusqu'à la seconde. Une ligne centrale d'un orifice de montage se trouvant dans la plaque de base s'étend dans un second orifice formé dans le bras de levier, lorsque ledit bras de levier est en position fermée. Le sommet d'une attache de fixation est accessible par le second orifice. L'invention concerne également des procédés de montage.
