A bearing assembly for a well drilling head has an outer barrel, an inner barrel, bearing units and a cover plate. The outer barrel has an upper end portion, a lower end portion and a central bore extending therebetween. The inner barrel is at least partially disposed within the central bore of the outer barrel. The bearing units are coupled between the barrels for providing concentric alignment of the barrels and allowing rotation therebetween. The cover plate is non-rotatably attached to the upper end portion of the outer barrel. An upper end portion of the inner barrel is exposed within a central opening of the cover plate. An outside edge portion of an upper surface of the cover plate encompassing the central opening is downwardly angled with respect to a central axis of the cover plate.
L'invention porte sur un ensemble de palier pour une tête de forage de puits qui comporte un cylindre externe, un cylindre interne, des unités de palier et une plaque de recouvrement. Le cylindre externe comporte une partie d'extrémité supérieure, une partie d'extrémité inférieure et un alésage central s'étendant entre celles-ci. Le cylindre interne est disposé au moins partiellement à l'intérieur de l'alésage central du cylindre externe. Les unités de palier sont couplées entre les cylindres pour produire un alignement concentrique des cylindres et permettre une rotation entre ceux-ci. La plaque de recouvrement est fixée de façon non rotative à la partie d'extrémité supérieure du cylindre externe. Une partie d'extrémité supérieure du cylindre interne est exposée à l'intérieur d'une ouverture centrale de la plaque de recouvrement. Une partie de bord externe d'une surface supérieure de la plaque de recouvrement englobant l'ouverture centrale présente un angle vers le bas par rapport à un axe central de la plaque de recouvrement.
