A leaf spring (14) includes an eye (16) attached to a vehicle frame member (20). A front cantilever portion of the leaf spring (14) extends from the eye (16) to a predetermined point of the leaf spring (14). A rear cantilever portion extends from the predetermined point to an end portion of the leaf spring (14). The rear portion of the leaf spring (14) includes a reverse arch portion. The front portion has a relatively high spring rate and the rear portion has a relatively low spring rate to provide comfortable riding conditions for the vehicle and roll stability for the suspension system.

L'invention concerne un ressort à lame (14) fixé par un oeil (16) à un longeron (20) de véhicule. Le porte-à-faux avant du ressort (14) va de l'oeil (16) jusqu'à un point prédéterminé dudit ressort (14). Le porte-à-faux arrière va de ce point prédéterminé jusqu'à la partie d'extrémité du ressort (14). La partie arrière du ressort (14) présente une courbure inverse. La partie avant possède un taux d'élasticité relativement élevé et la partie arrière un taux d'élasticité relativement faible, ce qui participe au confort de marche du véhicule et améliore la résistance au roulis de la suspension.
