The invention comprises a method and system for annotating a Java application file (Figure 3, Java Application File) or ground Java application file (Figure 3, Hint List File) to insert compiler hinting information such that a just-in- time compiler in a target environment (Figure 3, Virtual Machine of Target Environment, #350) preferentially compiles byte-code within the Java application file.
