ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides an automatic vehicle of the programmable type, comprising first control means adapt- ed to direct steerable wheels in accordance with memorized data as the vehicle travels over a predetermined course, guide de- tectors disposed on the vehicle adapted to sense guides dis- posed at predetermined intervals on the course, and second con- trol means, having priority over said first control means when said detectors detect the presence of a said guide, adapted to direct the steerable wheels in response to signals from said detectors so as to maintain the vehicle on a trajectory deter- mined by the said guide.
