A tear-away surgical drape is provided by the present invention. The drape has a fluid absorbent pad attached to the upper surface of an underlying base sheet. The drape has an opening, or fenestration, therein through which the operation is to be performed. The absorbent pad has a score line in it which extends from an edge of the pad to the fenestration so that it, like the tear- away material forming the base sheet, may be easily torn away after surgery. The present drape is particularly useful when it is necessary to leave a tube, catheter, or other apparatus attached to the patient after the surgery. The tear-away aspects of the drape allow it to be removed without disturbing the attached apparatus.
La présente invention concerne un champ opératoire déchirable. Ce champ comporte une garniture absorbant les liquides, fixée à la surface supérieure d'un drap de base sous-jacent. Le champ présente une ouverture, ou fenêtre, à travers laquelle on pratique l'opération. La garniture absorbante présente une ligne de coupe qui s'étend d'un bord de la garniture jusqu'à la fenêtre, de manière qu'elle puisse être facilement déchirée après l'opération, tout comme le matériau déchirable constituant le drap de base. Le champ de l'invention est particulièrement utile lorsqu'il faut laisser un tube, un cathéter, ou un autre appareil fixé au corps du patient après l'opération. L'aspect déchirable du champ permet de l'enlever sans gêner l'appareil fixé au corps.
