Disclosed is a technique for providing a stable current drive pixel for active matrix light emitting displays, in particular, active matrix organic light emitting diode (AMOLED) displays. The technique includes a method to retrieve the threshold voltage of the drive thin film transistor (TFT) and OLED voltage, and generate a gate-source voltage independent of these shifting voltages.
