In a franking system a postal security device (PSD) tracks a postage fund for dispensing postal indicia and enforce the configuration of the franking system. An authorization code, which is particular to the system, is used to verify the system configuration. An unauthorized change in the system configuration causes invalidation of the code and generation of the postal indicia is denied. Data center (125) records configuration information of each franking system (100). The data center generates a valid authorization code for verification in the franking system based on new configuration information. Components added to the system must be preapproved to prevent fraudulent generation of postage indicia. A registration identifier is assigned to each preapproved component which is necessary for interaction with the franking system.
L'invention porte sur un système d'affranchissement comportant un dispositif de sécurité postale recherchant un fond d'affranchissement assurant le timbrage et activant la configuration du système d'affranchissement. On utilise un code d'autorisation propre au système qui sert à en vérifier la configuration. Toute modification non autorisée de la configuration du système entraîne l'invalidation du code et le refus d'apposer le timbre. Un centre de données (125), qui stocke les informations de configuration de chacun des systèmes (100) d'affranchissement génère un code d'autorisation valable de vérification du système d'affranchissement sur la base de nouvelles informations de configuration. Les composants ajoutés au système doivent être préapprouvés pour empêcher la création frauduleuse de marques de timbrage. Lesdits composants préapprouvés reçoivent un numéro d'enregistrement nécessaire pour les interactions avec le système d'affranchissement.
