ABSTRACT A technique for the visualization of mammalian genetic material in living germ cells, one-cell fertilized eggs and pre-implantation embryo cells is disclosed. The cells are incubated with a fluorescent dye and the stained DNA is visualized by exposing the cell to ultraviolet light.
