A controller design for switching between m linear multivariable controllers each of whom stabilizes a linear plant has been presented. A Youla-Kucera factorization was exploited in the interest of obtaining a closed-loop system that is exponen-tially stable for any switching signal .sigma. (t) in the absence of plant model uncertainty. Robustness to practical model uncertainty was also considered and lower and upper bounds on the tolerable magnitude of unstructured additive plant uncertainty were presented. Numerical example demonstrated that the two controller degrees of freedom in the proposed controller design could be used to sep-arately modify the closed-loop steady- state (with respect to .sigma. (t)) performance and the switching transients.
L'invention concerne un modèle de contrôleur permettant la commutation entre m contrôleurs multivariables linéaires stabilisant chacun une installation linéaire. Une factorisation de Youla-Kucera a été exploitée en vue de l'obtention d'un système en circuit fermé exponentiellement stable pour un signal de commutation s (t) quelconque, en l'absence d'incertitudes dans le modèle d'installation. On a également considéré la robustesse aux incertitudes du modèle et présenté les limites inférieures et supérieures de l'intervalle admissible d'incertitude additive non structurée de l'installation. Il a été démontré par un exemple numérique que les deux degrés de liberté des contrôleurs du modèle de contrôleur proposé pouvaient être utilisés pour modifier indépendamment la performance de la boucle fermée au régime établi (relativement s (t)) et les transitoires de commutation
