Telecommunications cable with four individually insulated conductors stranded together. The mutual relative positions of the conductors are maintained along the length of the cable with each conductor at the corner of a square. The insulation on each conductor is of a thickness that with two diagonally opposed conductors forming one parallel connection and the other two conductors forming another parallel connection with the two connections in series, a nominal characteristic impedance of at least 75 ohms is provided.
