A data transmission system for external use with a controller area network is installed on a motor vehicle (13) undergoing high intensity electromagnetic interference susceptibility testing. The data transmission system includes a fiber optic cable extending from the immediate vicinity of the truck (13) to a site relatively remote to the truck and out of the effective area of the artificially generated electromagnetic interference. An optical/electrical coupler (40) in close proximity to the motor vehicle is connected to the vehicle controller area network to convert messages occurring on the network to optical signals. The connection is provided by an electrical cable constructed of a twisted pair of wires (18). The optical/electrical coupler (40) is also connected to an end of the fiber optic cable in the vicinity of the truck (13). A remote data processing device is attached to the remote end of the fiber optic cable by an interface card (42) installed in the remote data processing device (44). The interface card (42) converts optical signals to controller area network (18) compatible electrical signals for evaluation.
L'invention concerne un système de transmission de données destiné à une diffusion externe, équipé d'un réseau zonal de commande, placé sur un véhicule à moteur (13) qui est soumis à un test de sensibilité aux interférences électromagnétiques de haute intensité. Le système de transmission de données comprend un câble en fibres optiques s'étendant depuis le voisinage immédiat du camion (13) jusqu'à un endroit relativement éloigné de celui-ci et en dehors de la surface active où sont artificiellement produites les interférences électromagnétiques. Un coupleur optique/électrique (40) placé à proximité immédiate du véhicule à moteur est connecté au réseau zonal de commande du véhicule afin de convertir en signaux optiques les messages qui apparaissent sur le réseau. La connexion s'effectue au moyen d'un câble électrique fait d'une paire torsadée de fils (18). Le coupleur optique/électrique (40) est également relié à une extrémité du câble en fibres optiques dans le voisinage immédiat du camion (13). Un dispositif de traitement des données à distance est relié à l'extrémité éloignée du câble en fibres optiques par une carte interface (42) placée à l'intérieur du dispositif de traitement des données à distance (44). La carte interface (42) convertit les signaux optiques en signaux électriques compatibles avec le réseau zonal de commande de manière à permettre une évaluation.
