A television broadcast is transmitted with an additional signal indicative of additional information being available on an Internet site. Preferably the additional information is related to a TV program being broadcast. At a receiver station, a control box (16) is provided which is associated with a standard telephone set (26, 28). The telephone set provides standard telephone communication for a user or alternatively can be used to control access to the Internet site with the additional information and to retrieve said information for display on a standard TV set (12) together with the standard program. The telephone set is provided with additional keys with which this control can be achieved.

La présente invention concerne un système dans lequel une émission de télévision est diffusée accompagnée d'un signal supplémentaire représentant une information disponible sur un site d'Internet. De préférence le signal supplémentaire concerne un programme de télévision en cours de diffusion. Au niveau d'une station réceptrice, un boîtier de commande (16) est prévue en association avec un combiné téléphonique conventionnel (26, 28). Le combiné téléphonique assure une communication téléphonique conventionnelle pour un utilisateur ou alternativement il peut être utilisé pour commander l'accès au site de l'Internet contenant le signal supplémentaire et d'extraire ladite information en vue de son affichage sur un téléviseur conventionnel (12) conjointement avec le programme conventionnel. Le combiné téléphonique est muni de touches additionnelles au moyen desquelles ladite commande peut être effectuée.
