A movable valve gate or valve plug mechanism in a fluid control valve is provided with at least one pair of valve seats for controlling and sealing fluid flow. The seats are each provided with two sealing means having distinct diameters which encircle the flow path through the valve and are designed to minimize seat force on the gate or plug, thereby enabling less resistance when operating the gate or plug.
