TELEVISION CHANNEL INDICATOR Abstract of the Disclosure The specification discloses a channel indicator for a television set. The indicator has a thin film tape having channel numbers printed thereon, a sprocket drum for advancing the tape, a pair of reels to which both ends of the tape are fixed, respectively, a linkage for rotating the reels in response to the rotation of the sprocket drum, a housing for these elements having a window for indicating the channel number on the tape, a channel selector, the shaft of which has a tuner, the tuning frequency of which is controlled by revolving the shaft, a gear linked to the shaft and an adjustable engaging mechanism . The engaging mechanism includes a pair of engaging members both having radial notches on the engaging faces, and a spring which pushes the engaging members towards each other so that the radial notches are pressed to each other with a specified force, thereby engaging the pair of engaging members. The engaging mechanism rotatably links the gear and the sprocket drum. This invention enables the channel number to be indicated clearly and distinctly and without any gaps between the numbers of a two-digit figure.
