Zeolites containing silicon, titanium and tellurium oxides are prepared by a hydrothermal method which yields materials containing exceptionally high levels of catalytically active Ti species. Following calcination, the molecular sieves are active and selective catalysts for the epoxidation of olefins using hydrogen peroxide or organic hydroperoxide. The zeolites may have framework structures of varying topology, including MFI, MEL, BEA, ZSM- 48, MTW or MCM-41.

Selon l'invention, on prépare des zéolithes contenant des oxydes de silicium, de titane et de tellure au moyen d'un procédé hydrothermique permettant de produire des matériaux contenant des niveaux exceptionnellement élevés d'une espèce de Ti active sur le plan catalytique. Après calcination, les tamis moléculaires constituent des catalyseurs actifs et sélectifs destinés à l'époxydation d'oléfines, au moyen de peroxyde d'hydrogène ou d'hydroperoxyde organique. Les zéolithes peuvent présenter des structures à topologie différente, notamment MFI, MEL, BEA, ZSM-48, MTW ou MCM-41.
