This invention relates to methods for rejuvenating normal somatic cells and for making normal somatic cells of a different type having the same genotype as a normal somatic cell of interest. These cells have particular application in cell and tissue transplantation. Also encompassed are methods of re-cloning cloned animals, particularly methods where the offspring of cloned mammals are designed to be genetically altered in comparison to their cloned parent, e.g., that are "hyper-young". These animals should be healthier and possess desirable properties relative to their cloned parent. Also included are methods for activating endogenous telomerase, EPC-1 activity, and or the ALT pathway and/or extending the life-span of a normal somatic cell, and other genes associated with cell aging of proliferation capacity.
L'invention concerne des méthodes permettant de régénérer des cellules somatiques normales et d'attribuer à des cellules somatiques normales de type différent le même génotype qu'une cellule somatique normale d'intérêt. Ces cellules ont une application particulière dans la transplantation cellulaire et tissulaire. L'invention concerne également des méthodes de reclonage d'animaux clonés, en particulier des méthodes dans lesquelles la progéniture des mammifères clonés est destinée à être génétiquement modifiée par rapport au parent cloné, étant, par exemple, "hyper jeune". Ces animaux sont en meilleure santé et possèdent des propriétés désirées par rapport au parent cloné. L'invention concerne enfin des méthodes d'activation de la télomérase endogène, de l'activité EPC-1, et/ou de la voie ALT, et/ou des méthodes d'extension de la durée de vie d'une cellule somatique normale et d'autres gènes associés au vieillissement et à la capacité de prolifération des cellules.
