ABSTRACT A temperature-compensated low noise oscillator device includes a temperature sensing section, a control section and an oscillating section. The temperature sensing section includes a temperature sensor for sensing an ambient temperature to provide a temperature data signal representative of the sensed temperature and an analog-to-digital converter for converting the temperature data signal to a first digital signal having a first digital value. The con- trol section converts the first digital signal to a second digital signal having a second digital value. More particularly, the control section converts a variation in the first digital value to time-divided fractional variations in the second digital value. The oscillating section includes a converter for converting the second digital signal to a frequency control signal and a voltage-controlled oscillator responsive to the frequency control signal for changing the oscillation signal frequency thereof.
