A shock absorber assembly includes a damping mechanism that adjusts to compensate for operation at elevated temperatures. A member made of two dissimilar materials permanently bonded together with one material having a higher expansion coefficient than the other material provides a biased response toward the material with the lower expansion coefficient. This biased response compensates for incremental pressure changes in the shock absorber due to operation at elevate temperatures to provide constant damping regardless of temperature.
