- 18 - ABSTRACT TITLE: Temperature control for cooking appliances This invention relates to a temperature control for cooking appliances having a single heating chamber wherein cooking is accomplished by heating with high- frequency energy and heating by elevating the temperature of air in the heating chamber with a heater, which ac- complishes a control of temperature through the use of two or more temperature sensors having dissimilar tem- perature characteristics and dissimilar usable temperature ranges in combination with a microcomputer. The output voltage from the reference voltage generator is compared with temperature signal voltages from the above two or more temperature sensors and the results are processed by the microcomputer so as to effect an automatic cooking and, at the same time, to judge the presence or absence of the temperature sensor probe in food or the presence or absence of a trouble. The above arrangement simplifies the control circuitry, decreases the number of parts required, and improves the safety and reliability of the control system.
