\ - 14 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a temperature sensing element for sensing the temperature of a moving surface, com- prising a contact body of self-lubricating material, such as graphite, having an exterior contact surface shaped to conform to the surfaces whose temperature is to be sensed, with the contact body having an internal recess therein; a temperature sensing element positioned in the internal recess of the contact body; and a cast body of a high-temperature resistant casting material, such as silicone rubber, firmly bonded to the contact body of self-lubricating material.
