Case (GA/5-17948/= Temperature-stable Bacillus thuringiensis toxin Abstract The present invention describes an insecticidal toxin from Bacillus thuringiensis that is prepared by means of genetic engineering processes and, in contrast to its natural counter- part, is still stable even at temperatures of > 25°C, and the DNA coding for the said toxin. The invention relates also to genetic engineering processes for the preparation of such a temperature-stable toxin, and also to the vectors, plasmids and host organisms that are used in that process and contain the DNA coding for the toxin. The present invention also includes insecticidal compositions that contain said temperature-stable B.t. toxin as active component, and the use thereof in a method of controlling harmful insects.
