Mechanical to electrical transducers (12) employing magneto-elastic effects are mounted on the fairleads (24) which lead strands or wires to the closer head (27) of a wire rope making or stranding machine (20). The transducers (12) produce signals which include a useful signal reflecting the tensions of the strands or wires and background noise, which is processed by hardware (16) and software which enhance the useful signal. These signals are constantly displayed for the operators who manually control the machine (20), archived for record purposed and/or extended to feedback loops of control means for automating control of the tensions during operation of the machine (20). Better quality control and avoidance of corkscrew, wave or sunken strand phenomena are aimed at.
On monte des transducteurs mécanique à électrique (12) exerçant des effets magnéto-élastiques sur les cintres (24) guidant les fils ou les brins vers la tête (27) la plus proche d'une machine de fabrication de cordage ou d'une machine de toronnage (20). Ces transducteurs (12) produisent des signaux comprenant un signal utile réfléchissant les tensions des fils ou des brins et le bruit d'arrière plan, ce signal utile étant amplifié au moyen d'un traitement effectué par un équipement machine (16) et un logiciel. Ces signaux sont affichés en continu à l'intention des opérateurs commandant manuellement la machine (20), archivés afin de les conserver et/ou transmis à des boucles de réaction de moyens de commande, de manière à automatiser la commande des tensions pendant le fonctionnement de la machine. L'invention permet d'améliorer les contrôles de qualité et d'éviter des phénomènes apparaissant sur les fils ou les brins, tels que des torsions en tire-bouchon, des formations de perruques ou d'affaissements.
