The invention relates to a tensioning device for traction means, especially toothed belts, fitted with a tensioning arm (eccentric 3) on which a tensioning roller (1) is pivotally mounted. The device also includes a stopper (disc 12) limiting a pivoting angle of the tensioning arm (eccentric 3), wherein a detachable retention device (pin 15) is provided, by means of which the tensioning arm (eccentric 3) and the stopper (disc 12) can be retained in a position provided for the stopper (disc 12) for common pivoting.

Ledit dispositif comporte en outre une butée (disque 12) qui limite un angle de rotation du bras tendeur (excentrique 3). Un élément d'arrêt amovible (broche 15) permet de bloquer le bras tendeur (excentrique 3) et la butée (disque 12) pour un pivotement commun vers une position prévue pour la butée (disque 12).
