ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE . A device for holding fencing or similar wire (single- strand or double-strand) to a structure such as a fence post, comprises a body having a first passage through which the wire passes. A second intersecting passage carries a ball or disc which is spring-biased towards the intersection but rolls in the second passage into a position in which it locks the wire under tension. A stop surface at the end of the second passage limits the penetration of the ball or disc into the wire under severe tension.
