An improved process for the production of terephthalic acid comprising introducing a feed directly into a recirculating liquid stream so as to facilitate formation and maintenance of gas bubbles in a dispersed form in a recirculating gas bubble-liquid mixture. By maintaining a gas-liquid interface and overhead gas phase in conjunction with a quiescent zone of liquid apart from the major portion of liquid in which said mixture is maintained in a recirculating flow condition, the loss of appreciable amounts of gas to the overhead gas phase is avoided.
Méthode améliorée pour la production d'acide téréphtalique, consistant à introduire une alimentation directement dans un circuit de liquide de recirculation, de façon à faciliter la formation et le maintien de bulles de gaz sous forme dispersée dans un mélange de liquide et de bulles gazeuses de recirculation. En maintenant une interface gaz-liquide et une phase gazeuse de tête conjointement à une zone de liquide au repos à côté de la portion principale de liquide, où le mélange est maintenu dans des conditions de recirculation, on évite la perte de quantités non négligeables de gaz par la phase gazeuse de tête.
