47,614 A B S T R A C T The invention relates to electric switching devices and, more particularly, to an improved terminal and contact assembly therefor. The improved terminal and contact assembly including a contact carrier (102, 110) and terminal means (103, 113) conductively connected thereto is so construct- ed as to be withdrawable from its normal operating posi- tion to a more readily accessible inspection and service position, and to enable the contact carrier (102, 110), in said inspection and service position of the assembly, to be completely separated and removed from the latter. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the contact carrier can be separated and removed without requiring a disconnection of any external conductor connected to the terminal means (103, 113), and the latter is so designed as to allow the external conductor to be securely locked in place without undue deformation and distortion thereof.
