The present invention relates to a termination device for telecommunications and data transmission, comprising a carrier rail, a base element with receiving openings, and a functional module. The object of the invention is to develop a modular termination device of the foregoing type, by means of which various termination arrangements are possible. This is achieved by latching ontothe carrier rail the base element, which comprises a first receiving portion for a termination element for incoming cables and a second receiving portion for a termination element for outgoing cables, and by placing a functional module between the two termination elements.
