TEST DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASUREMENT OF ANALYTE LEVELS IN COLORED AQUEOUS FLUIDS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A test device of use in the diffuse reflectance colorimetric determination of analytes in colored aqueous fluids and its use in such determinations is disclosed. The test device comprises a diffuse reflective backing to which is affixed a thin translucent hydrophilic pad which contains reagents which react with the analyte being determined. The device finds preferred application in the measurement of sugars in fluids, especially glucose in whole blood.
