A rapid method and easy to use unitized test device is disclosed for determining the presence of Helicobacter pylori in a biological tissue specimen by detecting the presence of urease in the tissue. The system basically utilizes a multilayer test device for separating and optimizing the various reactions involved, i.e. the urease in the specimen with a substrate and the ammonia generated thereby with an indicator element.

Méthode rapide et facile d'utilisation d'un dispositif d'essai intégré pour déterminer la présence de l'Helicobacter pylori dans un échantillon de tissu biologique en détectant la présence d'uréase dans le tissu. Le système utilise fondamentalement un dispositif d'essai en coupes multiples pour séparer et optimiser les diverses réactions , c.-à-d. l'uréase présente dans le spécimen réagit avec un substrat et l'ammoniaque produite devient un élément-témoin.
