The invention relates to a test method and apparatus for assessing whether an assembly, which comprises as components at least a gasket (1) and a substrate (2) against which the gasket is pressed, has a tendency to squeak when the gasket (1) is moved relative to the substrate (2). For assessing said tendency, use is made of at least one accelerometer to detect whether vibrations are generated in the assembly when the gasket is moved relative to the substrate, in particular by means of an oscillator (15). In contrast to the existing methods which are based on acoustic measurements, the test method according to the invention is not influenced by background noises so that no acoustic insulation is required.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de test permettant d'estimer si un ensemble, qui comprend au moins des composants tels qu'un joint d'étanchéité (1) et un substrat (2) contre lequel est pressé le joint d'étanchéité, a une tendance au crissement lors du mouvement du joint d'étanchéité (1) par rapport au substrat (2). Pour faire une estimation de cette tendance, on utilise au moins un accéléromètre permettant de détecter si des vibrations sont générées dans l'ensemble en question lorsque le joint d'étanchéité est déplacé par rapport au substrat, notamment au moyen d'un oscillateur (15). A la différence des procédés existants, fondés sur des mesures acoustiques, le procédé de test de la présente invention n'est pas influencé par les bruits de fond, ce qui rend superflue l'isolation sonore.
