The invention relates to test systems that are based on transmembrane receptors from helminths and arthropods and to their use for identifying and characterizing substances that are effective against helminths, arthropods or that have an effect on the calcium metabolism of organisms and/or cells. The invention further relates to the use of a specific ligand in said test system and to the use thereof as an anthelminthic or arthropodan active substance.
