TESTING COPY PRODUCTION MACHINES Abstract of the Disclosure Many copy production machines require close interaction between an operator and the control circuits operating the machine. A major cost item in such machines is maintenance. Semiautomatic maintenance procedures reduce maintenance cost in that indicators are semiautomatically checked, most input mechanisms are individually semiauto- matically checked, and most output mechanisms are individ- ually semiautomatically checked. Each input and output mechanism, particularly the ones of the binary control type, are selectively actuated and deactuated and indicated on an operator's control panel as to their respective status. Maintenance personnel selectively actuate a component with the indication of the sensing of such actuation being indicated on the control panel. Similarly, a control element is actuated on an individual basis with the actua- tion state being indicated while permitting inspection of such actuation. Suitable safety procedures are provided for ensuring maintenance personnel safety.
