ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: New tetracyclic quinazoline derivatives are disclosed, of the formula I: Image (I) where A is alkylene which may be substituted by alkyl and in which two adjacent methylene groups may additionally be closed to a ring via a alkylene group which may be substituted by alkyl, X is a phenyl or naphthyl ring which may be substituted by halogen, nitro, amino, alkylamino, sulfonylamino, acylamino, hydroxyl, alkoxy, -O(CH2)2-4 -NR1R2 (with R1 and R2 meaning hydrogen or alkyl), alkyl or alkylsulfonyl, or is a 5-membered heterocyclic ring which may be substituted, and R is hydrogen, halogen, nitro, amino, alkylamino, sulfonylamino, acylamino, hydroxyl, alkoxy, -O-(CH2)2-4 -NR3R4 (with R3 and R4 meaning hydrogen or alkyl), alkyl or alkylsulfonyl. These derivatives and their salts with physiologicallly tolerated acids are useful for preparing drugs for controlling atrial and ventricular dysrythmias.
