ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE New tetrahydro-1,3,5-triazine-2,6-dione herbicidal compounds of the formula Image (I) in which R1 is (straight-chain or branched) alkyl of from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, which may be substituted by halogen, or cycloalkyl of from 5 to 7 carbon atoms, a benzyl or phenyl radical which may be substituted (once or more times) by chlorine methyl, methoxy or trifluoromethyl; R2 is hydrogen, alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of from 5 to 7 carbon atoms, phenyl, acetoxy or an - NR4R5 radical, wherein R4 and R5 are each hydrogen, or R4 and R5 conjointly form alkylidene, which may optionally be carrying one or more substituents selected from phenyl, nitrophenyl and furyl; and R3 is (straight-chain or branched) alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkylmercapto of from 1 to 2 carbon atoms or an -NR6R7 radical, wherein R6 and R7 are hydro- gen, alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, hydroxyl or amino (NH2), provided, however, that both R1 and R2 do not both represent methyl, if R6 represents hydrogen and R7 represents either n-butyl, or phenyl, and provided that R2 is not hydrogen or an alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms when R1 is other than methyl and R3 is alkyl, alkylmercapto, amino, or mono- or dialkylamino.
