ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Compounds of the general formula (II) are disclosed Image (II) or a salt thereof wherein R1 is a phenyl or naphthyl group or a substituted phenyl or naphthyl group: R2 is a group: Image or Image wherein R5 is a hydrogen atom or a C1-6 alkyl group, R6 is a hydrogen atom or C1-6 alkyl, phenyl, tolyl or benzyl group or R5 is linked to R6 so that the NR5R6 moiety is a 5-, 6- or 7- membered ring and R7 is a hydrogen atom or is joined to R5 to form part of a morpholine ring; R3 and R4 are each a hydrogen atom or a C1-4 alkyl group, and X is CO, CHOH, CHC1 or Image group wherein R8 and R9 are each a hydrogen atom or a C1-4 alkyl group; or a CR10OH or CHR10 group wherein R10 is a C1-4 alkyl group, which compounds have utility as anorexic agents and mood modifying agents. Methods of preparation of the compounds are also disclosed.
