Abstract It has been found that the novel tetrahydronaphthalene derivatives of the formula Image I wherein the symbols Y, m, n, R and R1 to R9 have the significance given in claim 1, have a pronouncet calcium-antagonistic and anti-arrhythmic activity and can accordingly be used as medicaments, especially for the control or prevention of angina pectoris, ischaemia, arrhythmias and high blood pressure. The compounds of formula I can be manufactured by the amination of a likewise novel compound of the formula Image II or Image IV with a corcesponding N-methyl-phenylalkylamine and optional subsequent O-acylation.
