ABSTRACT The invention relates to a textile fire protection layer. It will be used particularly within the sphere of aeronautics and means of land and sea transport, and in the clothing, furniture and construction industries. According to this invention, the textile fire protection layer consists of a fabric of polyacrylate fibres and flexible means ensuring that the entire charred framework displays homogeneous resistance, and moreover comprises precursory carbon fibres known as "Preox" fibres.
