A textile mat, which is adapted to form a thermal comfort layer for a piece of seating or lying furniture and made of a moisture-permeable and a moisture- absorbing fibre layer, is made of biodegradable fibres only. Binder fibres are embedded in the moisture-absorbing fibre layer to keep it together and form an adhesive surface for keeping the two fibre layers together. A cushion is made of a textile body with a thermal and a biochemical comfort layer. The body is made in one piece of biodegradable fibres, the thermal comfort layer being formed of said textile mat and the biomechanical comfort layer being formed of a vertically pleated, set wadding. Biodegradable binder fibres are embedded in the wadding. In a method of making a cushion with a thermal and biomechanical comfort layer, a vertically pleated, set wadding is cut to a predetermined size. A textile mat is cut to the same size and placed on the wadding, whereupon the cut wadding and the cut textile mat are heated to a temperature at which the binder fibres melt, and are pressed together to the desired shape.
L'invention concerne un matelas textile, adapté pour former une couche de confort thermique pour un meuble d'assise ou de couchage et constitué d'une couche de fibres perméables à l'humidité et absorbant l'humidité, lequel matelas textile est uniquement constitué de fibres biodégradables. Des fibres de liage sont incorporées dans la couche de fibres absorbant l'humidité, de façon à lier ces fibres et à former une surface adhésive permettant de lier les deux couches de fibres. Ladite invention concerne également un coussin constitué d'un corps textile pourvu d'une couche de confort thermique et biomécanique. Ce corps est formé dans une pièce de fibres biodégradables, la couche de confort thermique étant constituée dudit matelas textile et la couche de confort biomécanique étant constituée d'une ouate plissée verticalement dans laquelle les fibres de liage biodégradables sont incorporées. Selon un procédé de fabrication d'un coussin pourvu d'une couche de confort thermique et biomécanique, une ouate plissée verticalement est découpée à une dimension prédéterminée. Un matelas textile est découpé à la même dimension et placé sur la ouate. La ouate et le matelas textile découpés sont ensuite chauffés à une température de fusion des fibres de liage puis pressés l'un contre l'autre jusqu'à l'obtention de la forme souhaitée.
