A paper machine band and method are provided. The paper machine band has a textile product consisting of at least one support element on which is arranged a layered sensor. The sensor measures pressure and/or temperature. The sensor is made of three layers, wherein the second layer has piezoelectric properties. The layers that are in contact with the second layer form electrodes that can be coupled with an analysis device. The paper machine band provides an improved way of measuring pressure or temperature at any number of measurement points within the textile product.
