TEXTILE TREATING COMPOSITION Pierre Charles Emile GOFFINET Jean-Pierre Charles Ignace Marie LECLERCQ ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A textile-treating composition comprises a fabric-substantive cationic surfactant and a water-insoluble salt of a carboxylic acid having from 16 to 24 carbon atoms. Particularly useful water- insoluble salts are the calcium, aluminium or magnesium salts of stearic acid. Fabrics treated with the composition, either directly or in dilute aqueous solution, have enhanced softness and antistatic properties.
